No Agent Agreements Yet?

By on | 9 Comments

Question: Since we have no agreements available to sign yet, will agents still be able to sell come tomorrow? (October 1st?)

Answer: As it stands now, no agent is fully certified to sell on Covered California because the official agent agreement is not ready. The Exchange says that they will provide an agreement for signature and bill the $58 fee to all agents who have completed the training and passed the exam, about 1,500 agents, this week. In the meantime, the only method available is ton complete a paper app and hang on to it until you are certified.

The paper app is available on the CoveredCA website.

Wanted to see if any other agents are having problems downloading the agreement via the email this morning.

After entering my agent # is says I don’t show as being certified.

I took the classroom in San Jose on Friday by CC and they told us to take paper apps and sit on them until the certification is complete.

Does anyone know if the paper app is even available yet anywhere? Thanks!

Thank you Steven. That helps a lot.

This subject was addressed multiple times during the webinar. My takeaways are as follows:

Agents who enroll a consumer via the Covered CA exchange can do so with a paper application and then submit the application upon learning that they are Covered CA certified and in the CALHEERs system. (There is no way to link an Agent not yet certified and in the system to an application.)

Agents who have completed the Covered CA training and passed the certification exam should be receiving notification with an Agent Agreement to execute and a $58.25 endorsement fee to pay this week. (The signature page can be executed, scanned and e-mailed back to expedite final certification processing.)

According to the webinar on 09/27/2013 only 1620 of 15000 Agents who registered for certification were at a point to execute the agreement and pay the endorsement fee.

As I understood it, if you help a client enroll on-line tomorrow there will be no way to tie that application to your agency. Basically they said you could have your client complete a paper app and then wait until you are certified with CoveredCA to submit.

Steven, can you tell us what you think you know on this subject without us having to revisit the entire webinar?

Covered CA did address this question during a live webinar on Friday, September 27th, 2013.
